Mercedes Soto has been the Executive Chef at Purple Sage Ranch since 2000. Mercedes has a degree in culinary arts, as well as a rich history in cuisine learned while watching and helping her mother prepare meals for the family in Mexico.
Mercedes served as a sous chef at J’Alexanders Restaurant, La Mansion del Rio, and the Marriott Riverwalk, and also helped open the popular Ristorante Paesanos 1604. She has accumulated several certifications through the American Culinary Federation. She is known for specialties such as her barbecue sauce (unique, all her own, and top secret), salsas like her roasted jalapeño and tomato, her heavenly homemade white chocolate cheesecake, and her rich homemade vanilla bean ice cream. She wants her customers to know that no menu request is unreasonable or unattainable.
